Revive Africa Builds New Road to Orphanage
October 29, 2009Every August, Sierra Leone receives over 30 inches of rainfall. This August, severe flooding took its toll on the Wellington Orphanage and it's surrounding village. The road leading to the orphanage was destroyed, making it impossible for any type of transportation to reach the children. The daily journey up and down a very steep grade hill provides great difficulty for the children walking to school and church. Thanks to you, Revive Africa was able to donate $20,000 to repair the road. In addition to helping the children walk a safer route to the main road, it will help assist in the delivery of food, supplies, and mail to the orphanage which was not possible before the road re-construction. Pictured to the right is the damaged road as a result of heavy rains, leading to the orphanage.
